Care Guide

Natural gemstones & sterling silver — how to keep them beautiful

How to clean your jewelry

Gently wipe your pieces after each wear using a soft, dry cloth. For a deeper clean, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild, fragrance-free soap — then dry immediately and thoroughly. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, as the vibrations can damage natural gemstones and loosen settings.

What to avoid

Water — Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, or washing hands. Prolonged water exposure weakens elastic cords and causes tarnish.

Perfume & body products — Always put your jewelry on last. Lotions, hairspray, and sunscreen dull gemstones and accelerate tarnishing.

Household chemicals — Keep jewelry away from cleaning products, chlorine, and hand sanitizer.

Sweat — Remove pieces before exercise or any activity that causes perspiration.

Storage tips

Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box to prevent scratching. Keep away from direct sunlight and humidity — both can fade certain gemstones over time. When not wearing jewelry for extended periods, a cool, dry drawer is ideal.

Bracelet care

Sattva bracelets are strung on high-quality elastic cord. To extend the life of your bracelet, avoid stretching it unnecessarily and remove it by sliding gently rather than pulling. Over time, elastic can naturally wear — if you ever need a restring, reach out to us directly.

Necklace care

Fasten clasps before storing to prevent tangling. Lay necklaces flat or hang them individually. For sterling silver necklaces that have begun to tarnish, a gentle polish with a silver cloth will restore their shine.

A note on natural gemstones

Because Sattva pieces are made with real, natural gemstones, each one is unique. Minor variations in colour, pattern, and texture are not flaws — they are what make your piece one of a kind.
